Jemima was Maxwell's cousin, and wife to Hugh Blackburn (1823-1905)
who was Professor of Mathematics at Glasgow from 1849-79.
Blackburn had succeeded Lord Kelvin’s father(1786-1849),
Lord Kelvin (1824-1907) being the Professor of Physics at Glasgow
for the 54 years from 1846-99).
